While Thief stole the attention at E3, there was still a lot of black and gold goodness to see at the Square Enix booth.
We had one big announcement for Deus Ex fans on Day 1 of the show: the Director's Cut, which had been confirmed only for Wii U, was finally announced for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Mac. The big reveal happened during a full half-hour of Deus Ex talk with Émile Pedneault and Jean-François Dugas on the GameSpot live show.
If you watched to the end, you also got a good long look at Deus Ex: The Fall, the first installment of Deus Ex made just for mobile devices. Both the Director's Cut and The Fall were playable on the show floor, which means journalist had a chance to gets their thumbprints all over our tablet screens. What did they think?
"The Fall is totally legit. It truly feels like a complete Deus Ex experience, available on your Apple or Android phone/tablet. I know what you’re thinking. I completely get why you’re skeptical. But stick with me, here."
"The Fall is probably as close as you can get to a straight mobile port of a major, recent AAA shooter: You can access most of the same upgrades, modify your weapons, and run through dialogue trees, all in a world that looks like Human Revolution shrunk down to iPad or iPhone size."
With 10 minutes of over-the-shoulder gameplay footage!
Executive Game Director Jean-François Dugas gave several interviews throughout the week to show off the game and charm everyone with his infectious laugh.
